As the Senior Director of Community-Based Advocacy, Julissa works to uplift the lived experiences of the Center’s family, staff, and community members in conversations around systems building and transformation that impact children and families. Prior to joining the Center, she spent over a decade in Chicago Public Schools, where she worked closely with the district’s stakeholders on family engagement, governance, and district-wide initiatives. Julissa holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a master’s degree from Loyola University Chicago.
