CONSTRUCTION PLANS COMING SOON
The Carole Robertson Center for Learning educates, enriches, and empowers children and families through comprehensive child and family development programs. As we conduct the Center’s first campaign, Invest Today, Empower Tomorrow, we invite partners to support necessary capital investments to our Albany Park site and bolster our capacity to bring high quality education and family support to residents in this robust and diverse community.
For years, the Albany Park site, located at 5101 N. Kimball Avenue, had operated as the Albany Park Community Center, a longtime community anchor. In 2021, the Carole Robertson Center acquired the facility as our third flagship site, and today, we are the only community-based organization in the area that provides early childhood education and youth development services at low or no cost to the families of this vibrant and growing neighborhood. The site, which is over 28,000 square feet and serves more than 250 children and youth, has gone decades without receiving the maintenance needed to ensure it can optimally prepare today’s children for tomorrow’s challenges.
The Carole Robertson Center for Learning seeks to raise $10 million to $15 million to support the total capital enhancements needed at our three flagship sites. The improvements planned for our Albany Park location will allow it to continue to be a community beacon where children and families can thrive.

PLANNED IMPROVEMENTS
With the funds raised by the capital campaign, Albany Park will have a learning center designed for the present and future educational needs of the community’s children. Some planned improvements include:
- Long-needed repairs to the site’s foundation and critical systems (i.e., fire protection, intercom, and HVAC) that ensure the building is safe and functions well
- A commercial-grade kitchen to allow us to conduct more “scratch” cooking and ensure our children receive healthy meals and snacks that support their optimal development
- Increased natural light and recreational spaces that provide respite and enjoyment for all children and staff
- Reconfiguration of classrooms to promote better flow, support team collaboration, and ensure greater consistency in program quality
- More flexible spaces to allow for more innovative children, family, and community programming
CAMPAIGN PROGRESS
After launching our campaign in September 2022, the Carole Robertson Center has already made tremendous progress toward our overall goal, with $1,200,000 raised to date for our Albany Park site.
Together, we can create a lasting change for our future. We welcome the opportunity to discuss the capital campaign and pursuant gift recognition opportunities in more detail, including opportunities to name spaces in the renovated facility.
